Getting Your Organization Online!

• How can my group be included on the OCC web site?
  If your organization already has a web site, you can ask us to link to your site by emailing us at occ@otsego.org or by calling (989) 732-5841.mailto:occ@otsego.org
  
  If you are currently paying for web site storage or hosting, you may want to move your site to the OCC server.
  
  We will provide up to 5 MB of storage space on our web server.  Extra space can be requested and a determination will be made based on the value of the information to the community.
  
  If your organization does not have a web site, or the means and/or expertise to develop one, OCC can help.  We will provide a representative from your agency with web development training and access to web development equipment and software.
  
  If there is no one within your organization to carry out a web site project, we may be able to match you with a volunteer.  Requests for volunteers should be made to the Volunteer Center of Otsego County at (989) 705-8584.
  
  
  

• Eligibility Requirements
  Local groups whose purposes are civic, cultural, or educational in nature or are bona fide governmental boards or committees are encouraged to participate in OCC.  Your organization is eligible to participate if:
  

  • You have established a history of community involvement or can demonstrate intent to provide a community service.
    
    

  • The information you publish is current, accurate and appropriate, and relevant to the mission of your organization.  Announcements of fund raising events and activities must be for support of the non-profit organization only.
    
    

  • This information is maintained in a timely manner to meet any of OCC's deadlines.  The status of the site will be checked periodically and, in consultation with the organization, a determination will be made regarding its continuation.
    
    

  • The information conforms to local, state, federal, and international law, including copyright law.  If material in violation of such laws is discovered, it will be removed.
    
    

  • Participants' web sites must not contain material deemed offensive by OCC.
