The North Star Astronomical Society  meets the first Thursday of every month  Spring, Summer and Fall at 7PM in the Recreation Building at Elkwood Campground north and east of Gaylord and south and east of Wolverine which can be located at this website http://www.elkwoodcamp.com/contact.html

NSAS holds several star parties during the course of the year and promotes education and dialogues  on many current and past topics in observational astronomy, astronomical equipment (i.e telescopes, ccd cameras, star atlases ect...) and theoretical astrophysics.
