Vol. 6 Number 5 |
August 2001 |
The July meeting was held at Jim
Pike's Shop and
called to order at
7:00 pm on 7-11-01. There were 9 Announcements: We had a guest from Tennessee. Jack Harbourne is a relief carver and was in the Gaylord Area to visit his family. Mr. Harbourne gave a presentation describing his carving style and experiences in the art. He also showed a brochure of some of his carvings and they were very impressive. We are still looking for a new meeting place. We have looked into a few possible places and were unable to secure any at this time. Anyone with any ideas are asked to contact me at 989-732-2849 or at the meetings. Our dues were sent into MWCA with our membership roster. We have 44 members at the present time. Anyone wishing to attend a MWCA sponsored seminar will be eligible for any discounts applicable. The August meeting will be held at Hartwick Pines State Park in Grayling. The meeting will be informal and after we take care of business, we will have a pot luck dinner. The club will provide the hamburgers, hot dogs and buns. Members attending are asked to bring a dish to pass, their own beverages and eating utensils. The meeting will start at 5:00 pm. After dinner member Wendell Hoover will take us on a guided tour of the |
park. We have a list of some of the members who are
planning to attend, we need anyone else who will be there to contact me at
732-2849 as soon as possible.
