The Edelweiss Garden Club offers a minimum of one educational scholarship to high 
				school seniors graduating from an Otsego County school-public, 
				private or parochial, and planning to attend a Michigan school 
				of higher learning and/or students who already have graduated 
				from an Otsego County high school and are presently enrolled in 
				a Michigan school of higher learning. These scholarships are for one year.
				
				Applicants must be planning to major one of the following fields 
				of study: Agriculture Education, Horticulture, Floriculture, 
				Landscape Design, Golf Course Management, Botany, Biology, Plant 
				Pathology/Science, Forestry, Agronomy, Environmental Concerns, 
				Environmental Conservation, City (Rural and Urban) Planning, 
				Wildlife Science, Habitat or Forest/Systems Ecology, Land 
				Management. The Scholarship committee must grant approval for 
				majors other than the ones listed.
				
				Scholarship recipients will be chosen on the basis of 
				educational excellence, awards or achievements, character, 
				initiative and experience and financial need.
				Applications are available at the 
				counselors' offices at Gaylord H.S., Johannesburg H.S., 
				Vanderbilt H.S. and St. Mary's H.S.
				
				The scholarship will be paid to the finance office of the 
				recipients’ educational institutions in early August.
				
				The completed application must be received by May 1, 2017, and
