The First Presbyterian Church of Gaylord offers Sunday School classes for youth of all ages. Nursery, lower and upper elementary
and jr/sr high classes are provided. The youth participate in the church family in many ways, including hosting coffee hour, producing
a Youth Sunday service, operating the Youth café for the church’s annual flea market, participating in spring and fall cleanup, and
being the Sunday liturgist. The money earned at the youth café is used for local missions chosen by the youth and often requiring
active participation such as shopping for the Caring Closet.
The jr/sr high attend yearly regional events and the Presbyterian Triennium every three years. Each year we celebrate the end of
summer and the beginning of school with an awesome lock-in.

Airplane Rides- For the last three years summer has ended with a lock-in to celebrate a new Sunday School year. This year the Jr/Sr Hi group was heading to the Gaylord airport for a tour of Ken Schlemmer’s hanger. However, Ken had arranged for the youth group to go airborne with his friend, Tom Marker. And so Laura and I prayed very fervently as each group of three took off in the Piper Cub.
