Mission:

The purpose of the Foundation is to generate and distribute financial support in Otsego County for enrichment programs or projects which enhance the quality of education and/or educational opportunities.

What We Do:

The Otsego Educational Foundation (formally known as the Foundation for the Enhancement of Gaylord Community School) was established in 1987.  Its purpose is to provide a source of funding for educational programs, such as min-grants that enhance the learning experience of Otsego County students.  These programs for the most part are not part of the school tax supported budget.

In addition, the Foundation awards several scholarships and manages and administers several designated funds, notably the Jesse G. and Violette S. Butcher Fund, the Freel Family Fund, the John Thiel Fund, the Jason Mead Music Scholarship Fund and the Jim Mongeau Alpenfest Fund.

Because of the generous contributions of seven local golf resorts and many individuals, the Foundation has been able to fund numerous projects that complement already excellent educational programs.  It is only through the generosity of many donors that the Foundation is able to accomplish its mission.  we look forward to its continued growth in the communities we serve.
